Mgr. Pavel Szobi, Ph.D.

Pavel Szobi is an economic historian. He is currently conducting research as part of the FWF project "Ideentransfers durch "Expert Clearing Houses" in Wien" on the exchange of ideas in the scientific community during the Cold War and the transition to democracy in Central and Eastern Europe. He was an assistant professor at the University of Economics in Prague and a research associate at the European University Institute in Florence. He is currently also working at the Department of International Studies at Charles University. Szobi's current research focuses on pan-European relations and US-Soviet cooperation in the 1970s.
