Focus of research

  • International relations of the 20th century
  • Austrian, Italian and German history of the 19th and 20th century
  • Italians within the Habsburg Monarchy
  • Cultural aspects of Central European relations

Current projects

  • „A History of Austria in the 20th Century“
Austrian history of the last hundred years is almost unknown in Italy. That’s why it makes sense to write an Austrian history after 1918 in Italian, mainly dealing with political history, but without ignoring economic and cultural aspects. What should be stressed is the unique position Austria occupied in many respects, its history being characterized by a sometimes bewildering complexity of events and upheavals.
  • „The common legacy of Habsburg History and its Importance for Central European identity up to the present“
This project will require cooperation with many other institutions. As a first step it is envisaged to collaborate with DDr. Peter Techet from the Institut für den Donauraum und Mitteleuropa.
