Benedikt Schönborn researches European history since World War II with a special interest in conflicts and their resolution. He earned his PhD in Contemporary History and International Relations from the Universities of Geneva and Paris-Sorbonne. From 2008 until 2020, he was a researcher, lecturer and associate professor at Tampere University in Finland. He is also a former visiting fellow at RECET in Vienna, the University of Jyväskylä, the Berlin Center for Cold War Studies, the Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History, and the Norwegian Nobel Institute.
